Can OBC-NCL certificate mistake affect government job during verification process?
Sir, I am from Haryana, where we have a Family ID that contains all family details, including income. My father is a Group C employee, and his income is above ₹8 lakh, but in the Family ID, it shows ₹8 lakh. I do not know how it gets updated. Based on this, I applied for an OBC-NCL certificate. In the online form, it was clearly mentioned to provide income from the last three financial years, excluding salary and agriculture income. However, without checking the ITR, I filled in the income approximately. I still got the OBC certificate, and based on that, I got a government job. Now I am confused about whether I should join or not, because during background verification there might be a mismatch, and I could be removed from the job. Please advise me on what I should do.
If you obtained the OBC-NCL certificate based on incorrect or estimated income, it may create problems during verification. Do not ignore this. First, check your actual eligibility through proper income documents. If there is a mistake, apply for correction or surrender the certificate. Joining with wrong documents can lead to cancellation of job and legal action, so act honestly and clarify before joining. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
