I am facing an issue with my first passport application and would appreciate advice from anyone who has faced a similar situation. Facts: • My passport application mentions my father's name as Mahadev Prasad Sharma. • My CBSE Class 10 certificate also mentions my father's name as Mahadev Prasad Sharma. • However, my father's Aadhaar, PAN, and Voter ID mention his name as Mahadev Sharma. • Both names refer to the same person, my father. During police verification, the officer reported this name discrepancy. I have now received a notice from the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Delhi (Bhikaji Cama Place), asking me to appear before the Passport Officer with the original documents. My questions are: • Has anyone faced a similar issue? • Is an affidavit sufficient, or will newspaper publication also be required? • Will the RPO ask me to correct my CBSE certificate, or can the passport be issued after clarification? • Would it help if I take my father along with all his original documents?
