Do I have a right to property under grandmother's will?

I have a query regarding my grandmother's will. In 1991, she made a will in favor of her two grandsons but did not mention me, the granddaughter, as a beneficiary. My parents were not alive when this will was made, and the property mentioned in the will is located in Tamil Nadu. At the time, all three of us were minors (I was 13 years old, and the two boys were 10 and 7). I would like to know if I, as the granddaughter, have any legal right to the property, given that the will did not mention me. We belong to the Hindu religion and the general caste.

Sir, as the will did not mention you, the granddaughter, you may not have a legal right to the property under the will. However, under Hindu Succession Act, as a legal heir, you may still have a claim, especially if no other heirs are present. Consult a lawyer to understand your inheritance rights based on the specific circumstances. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
