Does Hindu law require equal will division among two wives’ children?
Sir, my grandfather was Hindu and had two wives, and both have children. All agricultural land and property are registered in the names of both wives’ children. We have no objection to this. However, the will (varsai) was rejected because it was not divided according to the two wives. Is there any Hindu law for this? Should I file a case?
Under Hindu law, inheritance can be divided as per the will unless challenged. Since the will was rejected for not dividing property equally among wives’ children, you may file a civil suit claiming your share or challenge the rejection.
