How to find whose name house is registered under?
I want to find out whose name our house in Chennai is registered under. The house belonged to my father, who has now passed away. I am his daughter and currently living in Canada. My father's siblings have moved into the house. How can I check the ownership?

You can check the property ownership through the Tamil Nadu land records website or hire a lawyer to do it. If it’s still in your father's name, you and other legal heirs can apply for legal heirship and then get the property transferred accordingly. A succession certificate might also be needed.
