What can I do if road access is being blocked?
The municipality is not laying a 15-foot road/path to our houses, which is shown as part of patta land opposite our house. Our sale deed (purchased 12 years ago) mentions the 15-foot path. We even received permission and constructed two buildings (one of which belongs to our neighbor) 6 years ago and have been regularly paying taxes. Now, the owner of the opposite land is demanding money to allow the road to be laid and is using local influence to prevent the municipality from doing the work. Please let me know the process to get the road constructed to our houses.
You can file a complaint with the local municipality and district collector. Attach your sale deed and building permission as proof. If the land is public or right of way, no one can stop it. File a writ petition if authorities do not act. Legal path ensures permanent access. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
