What happens to my court case if I move abroad?

We have a family property case ongoing for the last 30 years. My father is no more, so now the names of my mother, sister, and myself have been added to the case. My mother and two sisters have given me power of attorney, which has been submitted in court. I have received a job offer outside India. If I go abroad, will it create any problems for me or for the case?

Since you have power of attorney from your family, your legal representative can attend court on your behalf. Moving abroad will not affect the case if your presence is not mandatory. Inform the court once and ensure regular updates through your lawyer. Digital hearings can also be an option now. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
