What to do when police call after hit-and-run?

Hello Sir/Madam, This is regarding a hit-and-run case from 2020, which led to my mother’s death. At the time, we received a court summon for a small/mid-level case, which we closed, stating we did not wish to proceed. Today, I received a call from the traffic police asking me to come in to identify the accused. No further details were provided except to be present the day after tomorrow at 10:00 AM in Bangalore. I spoke to an officer who said this is related to presenting the accused and taking further action. What steps should I consider, and what should I expect?
