Can police arrest someone after a complaint is filed?

My son, who is 28 years old, had a live-in relationship with a girl, and she underwent an abortion, although he is unsure about his involvement (though they had physical contact). She had multiple friends, but unfortunately, my son signed the consent form at the hospital. Now, after learning about her multiple friendships, he wants to cut ties with her. However, she is not leaving him and is telling him that she will file a complaint with the police. In such a case, will the police take her complaint and file an FIR? Will they arrest my son, or will they first conduct an enquiry? Please help me.

The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, which permits licensed medical professionals to perform abortions in specific predetermined situations, as provided under the legislation. First of all you have not stated the age of the girl, and whether she is a minor or a major. and anyhow as you yourself are accepting that they were in a relationship, and had also signed a consent form for abortion, which means that she is having a evidence to show that she is in relationship with the boy. If the girl complains that she was raped by your son, and that he had forced her to undergo an abortion, then defenitely, the police will file FIR, and he will be behind bars. please consult a lawyer immediately with all the facts, for a preventive remedy.

If the girl files a police complaint, the police will first investigate the matter before filing an FIR. They will gather evidence and question both parties. If no crime is found, there won’t be an arrest. It is best for your son to consult a lawyer to protect his rights and handle the situation legally.
