How to Legally Protect Yourself from Illegal or Abusive Police Arrests?

My friend received a call from the police station stating that an arrest warrant had been issued in his name. He requested a copy of the warrant, but they denied the request and instead advised him to go to court and settle the issue. I have seen the warrant, and it mentions the name "Binay Sarma" with the address as House No. 3, while my friend’s correct name is Vinay Sharma and his address is House No. 9. The case is titled HDFC Bank vs. Binay Sarma. My friend has also obtained a No Dues Certificate from HDFC Bank and a CIBIL score report, both of which show no issues. In this case, can the police arrest my friend? According to them, since they cannot find any "Vinay Sharma" at House No. 9, they assume he is the person referred to in the warrant and may proceed with the arrest.
