What happens if I don’t unfreeze my bank account?
My bank account was frozen recently, and it had over ₹4,000 in it. I received an email from the bank saying I need to contact the Madhya Pradesh Cyber Office to unfreeze it. However, I live in Jammu and going there would cost more than my account balance. What will happen if I choose not to go and don’t unfreeze the account?
If your account is frozen and you cannot visit Madhya Pradesh due to travel costs, you can try sending a legal representative or lawyer on your behalf. Alternatively, request the cyber office to allow remote verification. If you leave it frozen, the funds will remain inaccessible but will not be confiscated unless there's a legal order.
