How can I verify if this police call is a scam?

A few months ago, I was curious about escort services and found an account on Telegram. I sent a "Hi" message and received a list of services. I paid an initial amount for photos, but when they started asking for more money, I blocked and reported the account. Yesterday, I received a call from someone claiming to be a police officer. They knew my name and asked if I had made the payment, expressing shame and demanding to speak with my father. I disconnected and blocked the number, as I’m unsure if this is a scam. What should I do to protect myself and verify if this is a legitimate concern or just a scam?
