How to unblock car registration after fraud case on seller?

I bought a second-hand car from a used car showroom in November 2018. The showroom owner did not transfer the registration to my name. I filed a police complaint in March 2019, but no FIR was registered. In February 2021, the owner finally transferred the car to me with proper bills. I then sold the car to Person X in July 2021. In February 2023, Person X tried to sell the car to Person Y but failed because the RTO blocked the registration due to a police case under Section 420 IPC against the showroom owner, filed by the original owner (who hadn't received payment). The owner also filed for insolvency. What should I do now to unblock the car registration and allow the sale?

Since the car is now registered in your name and later sold, and you were unaware of any fraud, you can apply to the RTO to unblock the registration with all supporting documents. Attach your sale deeds, registration proof, and complaint history. You may also file a writ petition in High Court for urgent relief.
