What legal action can be taken against blackmailers?

My boyfriend has pictures of us and is blackmailing me, threatening to send them to my family, friends, and parents. If I file a Disha complaint, will they contact my parents about this? I'm scared because my parents are unaware of these things, and I’m an only child. Please suggest a way to file a complaint without informing my parents.

You can file a police complaint or use the Disha App to report the blackmail without informing your parents. Request confidentiality during the investigation, and specify that you don’t want them contacted. Blackmail is a criminal offense, and the police will handle it discreetly. It’s advisable to consult a lawyer for further legal guidance and ensure your privacy is maintained during the process. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
