What to do if false NC filed and police ignore evidence?

A false NC (non-cognizable complaint) was filed against me. I brought an eyewitness to the police station—who is the sister of the complainant—but the police didn’t listen and instead took me to the ACP, asking me to sign a bond. What can I do legally in this situation?

If a false NC is filed, and you are being forced to sign a bond without proper inquiry, you can file a complaint to the DCP/SP or approach the Magistrate. Submit evidence, including your eyewitness. Signing a bond doesn’t mean you are guilty, but do not hesitate to seek legal aid immediately. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
