How can we stop a forced marriage legally in India?

I have completed the first part of my registration, and the date for resubmission/final submission is approaching. However, the family of the girl is pressuring me (the boy) and my family to complete the social marriage as soon as possible. They are forcing us and creating undue pressure. I would like to know your legal opinion under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) regarding such forced actions, and how we (the boy's side) can be completely free from any legal implications or pressure in this matter. Kindly provide your legal advice in this case at the earliest, as we are eagerly awaiting your opinion. Thank you.

Under Indian law, forced marriage is illegal. If you or your family are being pressured, you can file a complaint under IPC Sections 503 (criminal intimidation) and 506 (threats). You are not legally bound to complete the marriage. Seek legal aid or approach the police for immediate protection and guidance.
