Dear Client, Under the Indian laws governing marriages, there are no specific provision that may be invoked for prohibiting photography during the time of marriage registration. However, the registrar has the statutory power to ban or prohibit photography during registration since the office of the registrar is a Government office and registrar is vested the duty to maintain order and confidentiality of the records. I hope this answer helps. In case of future queries, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.

You can request the marriage registrar’s office for a written statement or policy document about photography restrictions during marriage registration. If none is provided, you can ask for a formal letter or email confirmation for your records. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
