How to handle false bribery threats using WhatsApp chats?

I am a Panchayat Secretary. Recently, a person has been threatening me, claiming that he has screenshots of WhatsApp chats in which I allegedly demanded a bribe. In reality, I have never taken a single rupee from him, and I treated his messages casually in the chat. He is now using those chats to threaten me. I am currently on probation. How should I handle this situation, and what steps should I take if he approaches the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)?

Immediately preserve all WhatsApp chats, call records, and messages. Do not delete anything. Send a written clarification or legal reply denying any demand for bribe. You may file a general diary or complaint with senior officials stating you are being blackmailed. If he approaches ACB, cooperate fully - absence of money trail or trap evidence will protect you. Avoid further informal chats. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
