However, Muslims can carry out a Nikah instantly under Muslim Personal Law, without any court involvement. In that process, you only need a Qazi, a few witnesses, and a clear Mehr arrangement/agreement. Nikah registration, in Mumbai, usually costs around ₹500 to ₹2,000.
