How can we obtain caste certificate for inter-caste marriage benefits?
I am X from Odisha fell in love with my colleague Q, while working in Mumbai. We got married in March 2024, first at the District Court in Jajpur, Odisha, followed by a Hindu ritual ceremony. I belong to the OBC caste and I have my caste certificate, but Q belonging to the SC caste (Regar), does not have a caste certificate despite her caste being mentioned in her School leaving certificate. We have tried to obtain a caste certificate in Mumbai and Rajasthan, but have been unsuccessful. Without Q’s caste certificate, we are unable to avail of the benefits of the inter-caste marriage scheme. I am seeking guidance and support to help us navigate this issue.
