Interfaith couple married secretly—can we get financial help?

Hello Sir, I am Hindu and the person I love is Muslim. Our families are not accepting our relationship. We cannot live without each other, so we got married in court without informing anyone. Now our families have said they will break all ties with us. We are also not financially stable—can we get financial help from the court?

Unfortunately, courts do not provide financial help just for court marriage. However, under the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation Scheme or state-level interfaith/inter-caste marriage schemes, you may be eligible for financial support. Visit your district social welfare office to check eligibility and apply. Also, try finding NGOs that support interfaith couples. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
