Hello, I want to bring my foreign fiancé to India for marriage. We both live abroad. How long must we stay in India to obtain a marriage certificate?

For a civil (Special Marriage Act) marriage in India, a 30-day stay is needed. You must give notice to the marriage registrar where at least one of you has resided for 30 days.
