Why cannot my parents access my marriage certificate without consent?

Two years ago, I got married without informing my parents. I hid the marriage from them. But now they are suspicious. Can they access my marriage certificate without my consent? Please advise.

Your marriage certificate is generally private. If your parents want it, they would need your consent or a court order, unless there is some legal reason for them to access it. It's your right to control who gets access to such documents unless stated otherwise by law. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
