Can a daughter claim partition in father's property?

My grandfather purchased 51 acres of land. During his lifetime, he did not divide the property among his sons. After his death, my father and his brothers divided the property among themselves through a registered partition deed. Through that partition, my father received 9 acres of land. Now my father is saying that he will give that 9 acres only to his sons and not to his daughter. As a daughter, can I file a partition suit?

Yes, as a daughter, you can file a partition suit to claim your rightful share of the 9 acres of land. Under the Hindu Succession Act, 2005, daughters have equal rights in their father’s ancestral property after his death, regardless of any partition deed between brothers. Your father’s intention to give the land only to his sons is not legally binding if it violates the law. You should consult a local lawyer to file the partition suit and claim your share.
