How can I evict tenants demanding large sums without paying rent?

I have four tenants who have been living in my property for a long time, and they have not paid any rent for many years. I wish to vacate the premises they are occupying. I have discussed the matter with them, but they are demanding a large sum of money, approximately 10 to 15 lakh, which is not feasible for me. Could you please guide me through the process and let me know how much time it may take to resolve this issue?

To evict tenants who are not paying rent, you must follow the legal procedure outlined in the Rent Control Act or the relevant tenancy laws in your state. First, issue a legal notice for non-payment of rent and seek eviction. If the tenants refuse to leave, you may need to file an eviction suit in the local civil court. The process can take several months to a year, depending on court procedures, but offering a fair settlement might expedite the process.

Sir, to resolve the issue with your tenants, first, send them a legal notice demanding rent payment and asking them to vacate, if they refuse, you can file an eviction suit in court. Mediation is an option to settle disputes outside court. Consult a lawyer for guidance throughout this process. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
