How do I file a transfer petition in court?

A case has been filed against my father and me by my father-in-law in another state. Can I alone file a transfer petition against my father-in-law? Will my father also be considered a respondent in the transfer petition along with my father-in-law? I do not want to involve my father in the case. He lives with me and wants the transfer as well, but does not want to be a party to the transfer petition.

You can file a transfer petition individually, but since the case involves your father too, the court may require him to be a respondent. To avoid involving him, consult a lawyer for advice on how to proceed while respecting his wishes and ensuring proper legal representation.
