Is it legal for a company’s registered office in residence?

A recently listed company has its registered office in a residential premises in Connaught Place. The head office/business office is in Noida, and no business activity is conducted from the Connaught Place location. The GST registration also lists the same residential address in addition to the Noida address. I would like to know if this is legal or not.

It is legal to have a registered office in a residential area, but the business activities should comply with local zoning laws. However, if no business activity occurs in the registered office, and GST registration is also in the residential location, it may raise concerns with tax authorities. Ensure compliance with all regulations. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
