Is SBTR stamp obtainable via Indian court without PAN, documents?
I am Amy from STI, Korea. Our company has a contract with an Indian company located in Mumbai, and to give the contract legal binding force, we want to put an SBTR stamp on the document. However, from my research, e-SBTR is only available for Indian residents since we don’t have a payer ID or PAN. I have heard it might be possible to obtain an SBTR stamp through an Indian court, and I would like to know if this is true and what conditions or documents are required. I’ve already contacted the Indian embassy in Korea, but they only mentioned the ‘Apostille’ process.
SBTR stamping in India typically requires a PAN or payer ID, limiting e-SBTR to residents. Obtaining an SBTR stamp via Indian courts is uncommon and complex. The Apostille, recognized internationally, is often recommended for foreign documents. Consult a local legal expert for court-based stamping options and required documents.
