How can we prove repayment of money to illegal lenders?

My father has taken money from illegal money lenders he has given 2-3 times more money than the actual amount still they are demanding lakhs of rupees he has not given any cheque or any government document but has admitted on plain paper and we also lodged complaint in PS and admitted that we have taken money but we have also returned that money 2-3 times more so does he have evidence now that we have taken money from him but we don’t have any evidence of returning the money to them please help

 Sir, if the payments were made through the bank, collect those bank statements and also gather any informal receipts or acknowledgments from the money lenders, as these can be helpful. Keep a copy of the admission on plain paper where your father acknowledged taking the money, this document might not be legally binding, it can still be useful.
