How to report lost passport to police and reissue it?
I lost my passport at home in Mumbai. It had expired in April 2022. I want to reissue it and was told to inform the police. Do I need to carry an application? What should I include in it? What will the police issue, and what should I do next to get the new passport?

Go to the local police station and file a lost item report mentioning that your expired passport is lost at home. Carry an application, ID proof, and address proof.
