What legal action can be taken against abuse and threat?

I am 22 years old. My father used to beat and abuse us (my mother, my younger brother, and me) from childhood, but now it has increased. Every time we have a small argument, he tries to beat us and abuses my mother. We do not have jobs currently, and the only source of income for our family is the house rent. However, he is also saying that he will sell the house, take the money, and leave us on the streets. We only have Rs. 15,000 from the rent; otherwise, we would have nothing. He doesn't work anymore, and yesterday, he even tried to kill us with a knife.
