Can interfaith couple file divorce under Hindu Marriage Act?

I’m from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. I converted to Christianity and married a Hindu girl in 2012 according to Hindu rites and rituals. We also received a marriage certificate under the Gujarat Marriage Registration Act, 2006. Now, we both want to file for mutual divorce. Can we file a petition under Section 13(B) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955? Also, if I receive a divorce decree under this Act, will it impact my ability to remarry in the future?

Yes, you can file a mutual divorce under Section 13(B) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, since the marriage was conducted under Hindu rites. Your conversion won’t affect divorce or remarriage, as long as the marriage was solemnized under Hindu law. The divorce decree will be valid for future remarriage legally.
