Is bond money required if candidate dies or becomes incapacitated?

Hi, I am a doctor planning to pursue a 3-year super-speciality degree through NEET SS. Most institutes require a government service bond (e.g., 2–3 years) after completing the course, or payment of a penalty (e.g., ₹30 lakhs in West Bengal). If the candidate dies (e.g., due to suicide, road accident), or becomes medically/physically incapacitated (e.g., develops motor neuron disease) during training or the bond period, will the family still be legally required to pay the bond amount, despite the candidate's inability to fulfill the bond due to such tragic or medical reasons?

If the candidate dies or becomes medically incapacitated during the bond period, the family may not have to pay the bond amount, depending on the bond’s terms. If there’s a force majeure or medical incapacity clause, the family can request an exemption from payment. Review the bond or consult a lawyer for guidance.
