Is it legal for police to hit a minor without questioning?

I am 16 years old, a minor, but while I was walking home at 11:30 PM, the police mistook me and hit me with a stick without asking any questions. Is this correct?

While being out late at night as a minor could raise concerns, police cannot use physical force against minors without proper cause as per the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. Your parents should file a formal complaint with the police department's senior officials or State Human Rights Commission, documenting any injuries and the incident details.

Police use of force against a minor without provocation or questioning is illegal under Indian law and violates the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. You can file a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission or approach the local Juvenile Justice Board, and your parents/guardians should document any injuries and file a formal police complaint against the officers involved.

Sir, as a minor, you have rights that protect you from unlawful actions by law enforcement. If the police used excessive force or treated you unfairly, you may have grounds for a legal complaint.
