Is NIOS a recognized board under government of India?

I want to take admission in BALLB. But the problem is that some Law Universities like SNU Sister Nivedita University are saying BCI (Bar Council of India) does not approve NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) as I had completed my 12th from NIOS whereas other Law College/Universities say you are eligible for BALLB? I am getting confused

You are eligible for BALLB if your 12th from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) is completed from a recognized board. NIOS is a valid national board under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the Bar Council of India (BCI) accepts it for law admission. Some private universities may have their own internal rules, but legally, NIOS is recognized. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
