Police say fraud case filed—no notice received yet?

I received a call from the police station saying a fraud/420 case has been filed against me, and I will be prosecuted. I am hearing about this for the first time—I haven’t received any legal notice or communication from an advocate. The police officer shared an advocate’s contact number, but it’s not in service. I’m confused and don’t know what to do. Please help.

Stay calm. First, do not visit the police station alone. Ask for a copy of the FIR or complaint. If you have not received any legal notice, the case may still be in inquiry. Hire a criminal lawyer immediately to verify if a case has been filed and apply for anticipatory bail if needed. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
