What are charges for property transfer from son to parents?

If I buy property today jointly with my parents, how much registration and stamp duty will we pay? If after 3 years I give up my share and transfer full ownership to my parents, what will the charges be—registration, stamp duty, and transfer fee?

At purchase, you pay full registration and stamp duty based on the total property value. If you later transfer your share to your parents, use a gift deed, which may have reduced stamp duty for blood relatives. However, registration charges will still apply. Exact charges vary by state.
