What should I do if my husband is unreachable for divorce?

Marriage date: 19th November 2012. I have not been living with my husband for the last 10 years, and I want to get married again. However, I need a divorce, but my husband left me 10 years ago, and despite trying to reach him, no one is able to find him. I am getting married in two months. What should I do?

Since your husband is unreachable, you can file for a divorce by mutual consent or a contested divorce under Section 13B or Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Publish a public notice to declare the divorce and proceed with remarriage. Consult a lawyer for legal guidance on the process. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
