What to do if court stay is not lifted for years?
The judgment was in my favor in the lower court. The opposition has obtained a stay on that judgment, and the case has been ongoing for 15 years just to get the stay lifted. Is my lawyer misleading me? What should I do next?
Your case has been stuck for too long. A stay is temporary, not meant to last 15 years. Ask your lawyer to file an application to remove the stay and request a speedy hearing. If your lawyer is not acting upon it you may consult another one, you have the right to push the case forward. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
