Dear Client, To get married under the Special Marriage Act, you will have to first approach the Registrar's office and file a notice of the intended marriage along with the identity proof, address proof, passport-size photos and an affidavit. The notice will be displayed for 30 days before the marriage can be registered. If no objection is received against the marriage within the 30 days then the marriage can be solemnized with the presence of three witnesses. Then the marriage will be registered and you shall be given the certificate of marriage. I hope this was helpful. For further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.

Dear Client, You can get married under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. It is a secular process, regardless of caste or religion. The couple must give a written Notice of Intended Marriage in the prescribed form to the Marriage Officer of the district where at least one of them has resided for a period of not less than thirty days immediately preceding the date on which the notice is given. Documents like proof of age, residence, and a copy of the divorce decree will be required. After filing the form, you will have to wait for 30 days to see if there is any objection to the marriage. If there is none, marriage can take place within three months from the date of the notice of marriage. I hope this answer helps you. For any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.

A Hindu girl and a Muslim boy can legally marry under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. Both must be majors (girl 18+, boy 21+), unmarried, and capable of giving free consent. A 30-day notice is given at the Marriage Registrar’s office. After objections, if any, the marriage is registered in court and a certificate is issued.
