How can I stop harassment and claim compensation for abusive calls?

I last used Flipkart Pay Later in 2020, paid the dues, and closed my Flipkart account afterward. However, for the past 2-3 months, IDFC First Bank has been harassing me 3-4 times daily, demanding an unpaid due of Rs 390. Flipkart customer care has confirmed that there are no dues, yet the bank continues to harass me. I have repeatedly asked them to provide me with the order ID, invoice number, product details, or purchase date, but they are unable to provide any of this information. They only keep demanding payment without giving any details about the dues. Sometimes, they use abusive language and threaten me regarding my CIBIL score. I have emailed them twice, but I haven't received a proper response. What can I do to stop this unnecessary harassment and teach them a lesson for their future actions? Can I take this matter to consumer court and claim compensation for the harassment and abusive calls, or lodge a police complaint?

You can file a complaint with the banking ombudsman under the RBI for harassment by IDFC First Bank and provide evidence like call logs and emails. You can approach the consumer court for compensation due to mental harassment and unfair practices, attaching Flipkart's confirmation of no dues. Lodging a police complaint for abusive language and threats is also advisable on the grounds of harassment and intimidation. Ensure all communications are documented for legal proceedings. Consulting a consumer rights lawyer will further strengthen your case.

Sir, to stop the harassment, first request the bank to provide proof of dues. If they don't respond, file a complaint with their grievance redressal department or the Banking Ombudsman. You can lodge a police complaint for harassment and abusive behavior. Alternatively, file a case in Consumer Court for compensation. Keep evidence of all communications, and consider sending a cease and desist letter. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
