Can temporary PwBD certificate holders get Central Government promotion benefits?
I have a Temporary Locomotor Disability Certificate valid from 15-09-2025 to 12-09-2027. I have completed the residency period for promotion, and the DPC for the higher post has already been conducted. I have submitted a representation for promotion under the PwBD quota. Am I eligible for promotion in the Central Government? Please advise.
If your PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) certificate was valid on the date of DPC, you are entitled to reservation under Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Temporary disability certificates are valid for reservation if active during DPC. If promotion is denied, you can file a representation or approach CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal).
