Can the company take legal action for working remotely abroad?

I am working in an IT company and currently working from home in another country. According to HR, this is against the company’s legal policy. Is there a chance that the company’s legal department could take legal action against me?

If your company has a policy against working from another country, and you are violating it, legal action could be taken against you. Review your employment contract and company policies. It is advisable to seek advice from an employment lawyer to understand the potential consequences and options. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
