Is forced job contract denying salary legal in India?

Hello Sir/Madam, I applied for a job and was interviewed. The interviewer made me sign an offer letter which stated that I was joining a telecalling sales job, and that after signing the letter, I could not leave the job for any reason. It also mentioned that if I left the job, I would not receive any payment. Is this legal? They have been running this scam for a long time. I want to take action against them—please help.

Dear Client, The offer letter in itself is unenforceable and void since it has been obtained without your voluntary informed consent. In addition to this, Section 27 and 23 classifies agreements in restraint of trade or opposed to public policy as void. Since you sign was obtained in this manner, you can also initiate a proceeding for Cheating under Section 415 of IPC. In order to hold the said employer accountable, file a complaint at the Labour Court as well as your police complaint under the above stated grounds. I hope this answer helps. In case of future queries, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.

The offer letter terms are illegal. No employer can stop you from resigning or refuse to pay for your work. You should send them a legal notice and report them to the labour office or police. If it’s a scam, others may be affected too. A lawyer can help you take proper action. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
