Legal action for buyout delay, salary hold, relieving date issue?

I am currently serving my notice period and had requested a buyout from my current employer. My reporting manager officially accepted my buyout request, but HR is not updating the final relieving date in the system. They are also withholding my last month’s salary stating that I requested a buyout. Due to this harassment, I am unable to confirm my joining date with the new employer. Is there anything I can do legally in this situation?

Yes, legally you can send a formal written notice to your HR demanding the update of your relieving date and release of pending salary. If they fail to act, you can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner or approach a lawyer to take legal action for recovery of dues and harassment.
