What can I do if employer terminates me without any reason?
Sir, I am working in a limited company. One of my colleagues ran away from the company, taking company assets such as a laptop, bag, adapter, etc., after having a verbal altercation with the MD. As a result, the company has stopped me and another colleague from working and collected our laptops and other items. Now, they have instructed us not to come to the office. They warned us that if the colleague does not return the laptop, we will be terminated and will not receive the last two months’ salary, even though we had no involvement in the incident. What should we do? We are currently at home, waiting for the company’s response.
You cannot be held responsible for your colleague’s actions if you had no role in it. The company cannot stop your salary or terminate you without valid reason. Send a written complaint (email or letter) to HR and higher management. If there is no response, file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner or seek help from a labour lawyer. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
