Under Indian Cooperative Societies laws, including Maharashtra's 1960 Act, the "one member, one vote" principle governs housing societies. Section 27 explicitly grants each member a single vote, irrespective of the number of flats owned. This ensures democratic equality, preventing disproportionate voting power based on property ownership and fostering fair decision-making within the society. Thus, an individual owning multiple units still casts only one vote in society affairs.

If you own multiple flats in a housing society, you still get only one vote. Society rules and laws say one member equals one vote, no matter how many flats you have. This ensures fairness for everyone. If the society tries to give you fewer or more votes, you can consult a lawyer or approach the Registrar for help.
