How can I seek government relief when my land lies in the river?

The said land was submerged in river water during heavy floods. Can I request the Government of Andhra Pradesh to declare the said survey land as abandoned and allot me nearby vacant government land that has naturally formed due to the river?

Yes, you may submit a representation to the Andhra Pradesh Revenue Department seeking inspection and relief. However, private land cannot be declared abandoned solely because of flooding. Newly formed riverbed land usually vests with the State under revenue law. At best, you can request compensation, rehabilitation, or discretionary allotment, but there is no automatic legal right to alternative land. For further legal assistance, contact us on our helpline number.
