How can we start the business in a different state?
Dear Sir, I registered a private limited company under the West Bengal ROC in 2023. However, shortly after receiving all the documents, legal issues arose with the owner regarding the electric bill. The WBSEB restricted the electricity supply, and after a month, the owner passed away. Since the premises were in his name, his legal heirs were unable to provide an NOC, preventing us from obtaining the trade license and GST registration. As a result, we couldn't initiate the business. Now, the directors have decided to start the business in a different state. How can we proceed with this?
Sir, to initiate your business in a different state, you can either transfer or close the existing company, depending on legal feasibility and obtain an NOC from the deceased owner's legal heirs or find a new premises. You can apply for a new trade license and GST registration in the new state and update the company’s registered office address with the ROC. Consulting a legal expert or company secretary is advisable to ensure smooth transition and compliance. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number
