Uttar Pradesh poker club operations are regulated through the Public Gambling Act, 1867. Sections 3 and 4 describe the consequences of operating or visiting a "common gaming house" while Section 7 establishes punishments for individuals who engage in gaming activities. Section 12 protects all games that require only skill to play because operators use judicial decisions to claim that poker belongs to this protected category. Section 7 of the Companies Act 2013 is used to establish their business because they need to complete three requirements which include getting GST registration through Section 22 of the CGST Act 2017 and obtaining a municipal trade license according to Section 294 of the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act 1959.

Poker clubs in Uttar Pradesh face legal restrictions, as gambling is regulated under state laws. Since UP does not clearly permit poker clubs, you may require police permission, local authority approvals, and compliance with Public Gambling Act provisions. Legal feasibility must be assessed carefully, as authorities may treat poker as gambling. Consult a lawyer before investing. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
